At Sainsbury’s, we have a clear purpose – to make good food joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone, every day.

We believe that every child should have the food they need to learn, grow and thrive. But today in the UK, 1 in 7 families are going hungry. Too many parents are skipping meals so their kids have something to eat. And too many children are facing empty plates and missing out on the joy that good food brings.

This summer, we want you – our colleagues – to help us change that by moving for meals to raise money for Comic Relief! You can run, walk, skip, wheel, hop and jump your way to help us on our mission this year to donate 12 million meals to children and families across the UK who need it most.

Sainsbury’s will match every pound you raise, doubling the impact of all our efforts.

Here’s how your fundraising could make a difference:

Every £3 donation

could help a child enjoy a healthy, home-cooked meal.

For every £100 raised

we could help give healthy meals to a classroom of children.

Reaching £2,500

could help keep a food club running for a month, providing fresh food to families.

And £15,000

could set up a new food club and supply it with a year’s worth of fruit and vegetables for families.

Move for Meals builds on 27 years of brilliant partnership between Sainsbury’s and Comic Relief.

We have raised over £188 million and since 2022, we have been working together to tackle hunger - helping hundreds of local charities throughout the UK deliver food to those who need it most. Now, we’re going further than ever before, with a bold ambition raise £30 million for Comic Relief by 2030. We plan to double our impact, helping to donate a total of 120 million meals to children and families since 2022.

Our mission this year is to raise £6 million, which is enough to donate 12 million meals to children and families in the UK. And we need the energy of each and every one of our colleagues to help us work towards a future where every family has access to good food and no child goes hungry.
